Ontario also has the most southern polar bear population in the world. Dave Pearce, a Conservation Analyst with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society’s Wildlands League will tell the story of how “ice bears”, climate change and carbon choices collide dramatically in Ontario’s far north. He will discuss polar bear morphology, behaviour and biology and how the health of polar bear populations is an indicator of climate change impacts.  Learn about the effects that industries such as forestry, mining, oil and gas have on our carbon rich ecosystems and recent efforts to protect this relatively pristine ecosystem at the northern limits of our Province.
